Before you start to test drive this diet to get six pack abs, you should really be committed to see it through. It’s no good to shoot out the door and then get discouraged just before you start seeing results. You need to know – right now – that you are ready to do more than just the common cardio and a couple of sit ups.
If you really want ripped abs your gonna need to work at it both in the gym and in the kitchen.
So What Needs To Be In The Best Six Pack Abs Diet?
Protein
Proteins are the building blocks for your body. Without them your body won’t have the raw materials needed to build your abdominal muscles. It’s recommended that your protein intake should be at least 1.5 grams per pound of body weight.
Before you start doing six pack ab exercises like, sit ups, crunches, leg raises and other training at the gym, you should eat at least 20 grams of protein. And again after your workout you should consume another 20 grams. This way when your body is looking for fuel, it doesn’t start to burn the muscle your trying so hard to put on.
Oftentimes, all you need to do to get 6 pack abs is to lose fat. Most people have a layer of body fat hiding their abdominal muscles and once they lose that fat, they have perfect abs underneath!
So how many calories do you need to get a six pack? Around 10 calories per pound of bodyweight. This is a much lower then normal calorie intake, but it will strip off any unwanted fat covering your abs.
If your one of those skinny guys (like I once was), then you may want to consume more calories. Sticking to the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) should help you get toned abs whilst packing on more muscle.
Fat
Whilst this abs diet encourages you to cut your fat intake down, you still need to maintain a certain amount to keep your body functioning. If you multiply your bodyweight by 0.2 you will arrive at the amount of fat you need for this plan. Because this is a relatively low amount of fat, you should eat it evenly throughout your meals.
Carbos
When your dieting for a six pack, you need to keep the amount of carbs you eat very low. You do still need carbohydrates because they give you the energy needed when working out, but you should try to only eat them around your workouts.
If you take your body weight and divide it by two, this is how much carbs you will eat around your workout (half first and half after).
Breaking The Six Pack Diet
Yes that’s right, eating all kinds high calorie foods is a critical step in the best six pack abs diet. This is to avoid your metabolism from crashing which could grind your workout routines and training to a halt. So choose to break your diet about once a week and more rapidly as you get closer to getting great abs.
Focus on carbohydrates as they are known to jump-start the metabolic rate the most.
