Balyam
One very common practice suggested by Baba Ramdev for hair growth is to run the nails of the hands against each other. Nail rubbing is an effective way to increase hair growth and cure hair fall. Nail rubbing for hair growth came into popularity when Baba Ramdev talked about its benefits and also shown the fantastic results.
Nail rubbing for hair regrowth is very simple, just fold your fingers of both the hands and place the finger nails against each other. Simply rub the nails against each other. It is advised to do nail rubbing for five to seven minutes twice a day. Nail rubbing can be done while standing or sitting as well. Baba Ramdev recommends doing nail rubbing just before sleeping and also do it in a way that sounds come from nail rubbing.
This enhances blood circulation in every part of the skull and hence accelerates hair growth. As per Baba Ramdev the reasons or rather the causes for hair loss are increasing levels of stress and anxiety, poor diet and poor blood circulation.
To Enhance Blood Circulation Baba Ramdev recommends few Yoga Poses to counter Hair Loss and increase Hair Growth:
  • Vajrasana | Thunderbolt Pose : The vajra-asana is a seated posture. Begin by sitting back on your heels and placing your knees, legs and feet together. Keeping the back straight place the palms of your hands down on top of your thights. Breath gently thorugh your nostrils and sit in this position for at least three minutes
  • Pavanmuktasna | Wind Releasing Pose: Lie flat on the back in the shava-asana. Inhale and bend the right knee and pull it close to the torso with both hands while interlocking the fingers just below the knee. Keep the left leg flat on the floor. Hold the inhaled breath for a few seconds then exhale slowly through the nostrils and lift the back, shoulders and head off the floor and touch the knee with the forehead.
  • Sarvangasana | Shoulder Stand Pose: Lie flat on the back in the shava-asana. Inhale through the nostrils. Place the palms face-down on the floor. Keeping the hips on the floor, bend the knees and bring them up toward the stomach while exhaling. Inhale slowly through the nostrils, press down on the hands and lift the torso from the waist up off the floor, arching the spine backwards and straightening the arms.
  • Sirsh Asana | Headstand Pose : Put your yoga mat into a comer, kneel down in front of it and place your interlocked fingers in the comer close to the walls. Put your head into the hollow of the palms, rise off the knees and take a step or two towards the comer. Lift one leg and place it in the comer against the wall. Now, just kick the other leg up.
  • Ushtra Asana | Camel Pose : Sit up on the knees with the heels of the feet pressed against the buttocks and the calves of the legs flat on the floor. Reaching backward, grasp the left ankle with the left hand and right ankle with the right hand. Inhale through the nostrils and lift the buttocks off the legs arching the back and thrusting the abdomen forward and tilt the head as far back as possible.
  • Adho Mukha Svanasana | Downward Facing Dog Pose :  Keep your legs shoulder width apart. Slowly, bend down, until your palms touch the floor ahead of you. Exhale while bending.  Do not lift your heels off the floor. Don't bend your knees, but at the same time, don't lock them. Spread your fingers wide apart. Now, push your head between your arms, towards your knees. Feel the stretch in your legs.
  • Uttanasana | Standing forward bend pose
  • Like all forms of Yoga and Ayurveda it is important to be patient and to understand that you need to religiously practice Yoga for about 3-9 months to be able to see the results of the yoga. It is not instant.
  • Divya Kesh Tail is the medicine that is produced by Ramdev Baba’s yoga pharmacy unit for quick hair growth.
Baba Ramdev’s recommends following Pranayama for hair loss :
Bhastrika Bhastrika Pranayama: Take deep breaths such that the air from your lungs and diaphragm are completely pushed out. This should be done for about 2 minutes and not for more than 5 minutes at a stretch. Bhastrika Breath helps in pumping fresh air to your entire body including the head and hence makes quick hair growth possible. Read More...
Kapal Bhati Kapalbhati Pranayama: It is also commonly referred to as sneeze-like breathing since it happens quickly. All you have to do is touch your chin to your chest and breathe in and out of your nostrils quickly. As beginners you should try this for not more than a minute at a stretch and gradually you can go up to about 15 minutes. Read More...

Anulom Vilom Pranayama: While this is not the natural way in which we breathe, Baba Ramdev’s anulom vilom pranayama is clearly one of his most practiced asana. Acupressure FAQ

Acupressure (sometimes written as "accupressure") is a technique related to acupuncture, where the energies of the body are regulated by manipulating points on the body. This has effects on the emotions, tension and physical conditions. Here are some frequently asked questions about acupressure:

Acupressure points can be measured electrically. Scientists have also shown that acupuncture and Acupressure produces higher levels of important bio–chemicals. Other studies show that Acupressure can increase blood flow in even the deepest body tissues. Some scientists have shown that electrically active fascia, the tissues that wrap and interconnect the whole body, could be the location of a sensitive communications network, the basis for which acupuncture and Acupressure work. In terms of using Acupressure for the purposes of relaxing muscles, it works by increasing the blood flow to muscle tissue surrounding the Acupressure point. Increased blood flow naturally warms the muscles between 2 to 3 degrees. Increased muscle temperature allows the muscle to become more relaxed and flexible.
When there is swelling in a particular part of the body do not stimulate the regular acupressure points in that area. Focus on the points in the ear, hands feet points and distal points that relate to that condition. If these points are not on your printouts see your Ancient Wisdom book for better pictures or the ear skeleton pictures in the study on the internet under symptoms. See the precautions section in your introductory text that you get when joining the study.

Acupressure Tips: How it works and General Directions

Acupressure and acupuncture share the same active points (also called trigger points). The ancient Chinese developed system of active points stimulation over 5,000 years ago. The active points are located on imaginary lines called meridians. Accordingly, the points are referred to by the meridian they are located on and consecutive number of point on that meridian.
Acupressure Tips: How it works and General guidelines
  • The ancient Chinese believed that life energy chi (pronounced chee) flows through these meridians. In a healthy person the energy flow trough meridians is unobstructed. The blockade of chi flow results in an illness. The Chinese believed that active points stimulation clears the meridians and improves the flow of energy.
  • The western medical science only begins to understand the mechanisms responsible for positive effects of active points stimulation. Stimulation of active points is thought to lead to increased release of endorphins. Endorphin is a natural body painkiller. Endorphin and morphine are chemically different molecules but, by coincidence, they have very similar 3-dimensional shape. This similarity in shape allows morphine to bind the endorphin receptor, reduce pain, and induce feeling of happiness. Thus endorphin released by acupressure stimulation may lead to relaxation and normalization of body functions.
General Directions:
  • Use deep firm pressure to massage every point.
  • Usually acupressure points are more sensitive than surrounding area.
  • The massage duration indicated with point description is only an approximation. Massage every point until numbing feeling is produced.
  • You do not need to massage all active points included in the exercise. Some active points produce stronger effect than others. You may choose to limit the exercise to massaging these high potency points only.
  • You can repeat active points massage as often as you want. There is no limit on number of exercises per day.
  • When applying deep pressure the active point is expected hurt initially. In this case reduce the pressure to a “comfortably” painful level and persist with massaging the active point. Increase the pressure as the initial painful sensation begins to subside. Continue the massage until numbing feeling is produced
  • When massaging acupressure points sit comfortably or lie down, close your eyes and breath deeply.
  • It is not necessary to massage points on your own, you can ask somebody else to massage your active points.
To stimulate an acupoint properly, you must apply deep probing pressure. Therefore, only apply pressure with:

Acupressure Points for Strengthening Body Organs to cure Diseases

Acupressure can be administered by someone trained in the technique or it may be practiced at home. Acupressure cure for Headaches

Headaches are your body’s response to physical or emotional stress. That stress can make the muscles in your head and neck contract to create tension headaches. Or it can make blood vessels constrict and later expand to produce migraines or vascular headaches. And if your sinuses are congested or infected, pounding headaches often result. Despite the discomfort, most headaches are temporary and respond quite nicely to do-it-yourself treatments.
Acupressure works by stimulating the pressure points by massaging them will help relax the tight muscles and increase blood circulation, thus relieving the headaches.
Pressure points are clusters of nerves located at various points on the body, which help regulate blood circulation.
Steps to find pressure points and how to stimulate them:
  1. Locate your temples. They are on either side of your head about 1 inch (2.54 centimeters) behind your eyes.
  2. Place your thumbs on your temples and simultaneously massage them by gently rotating your thumbs in a counter-clockwise direction.
  3. Place your thumbs at the back of your neck, on the base of your skull on the two sides of your spinal column.
  4. Tilt your head back a bit and press your thumbs in while pushing slightly upward.
  5. Find the meaty part on the back of your hand. It is just above the webbing between the thumb and the index finger.
  6. Using your other thumb, squeeze the muscle by pressing down hard.
  7. Using your index fingers, gently massage the inside ends of your eyebrows just above the bridge of your nose.
  8. Place your index finger between your big toe and your second toe.
  9. Move your finger up about 1 inch (2.54 centimeters) to where the bones of your toes meet the inside of your foot. Press that point straight down.

Acupressure: Rubbing Finger Nails for Hair Growth

Rubbing Finger Nails to reduce grey hair:  Rubbing left and right hand nails with each other is a powerful way to cure hair fall and increase hair growth. It is extremely simple yet very effective.
Fold both your palms inwards and place the fingernails of both hands against each other. Then with regular swift motions, rub them against each other. It is simple and can be done anywhere anytime. Do it for about 5-7 minutes twice a day.You need not devote special time; just do this while watching a film or commuting to work.
Benefits:

  • The nerve endings just under your fingernails are directly connected to your hair roots. By rubbing your nails together, you help boost blood circulation in your scalp.
  • This rubbing procedure increases the blood flow to the scalp and helps in strengthening the roots, which in trun reduces grey hair.
  • It not only helps in curbing hair loss, but also leads to regrowth of lost hair in people suffering from baldness or receding hairlines. And if that is not good enough, it also brings back the color naturally thus getting rid of the problem of graying.
  • It is tried and tested and will definitely show results. You need to be patient though. You will begin to notice a difference in about a month and by the end of 6 months you would probably be successful in ridding yourself of all your hair problems.
  • Other than rubbing your nails together, forehead rubbing is equally effective in controlling premature graying:
  • When you get up in the morning, rub the area of your forehead closest to your hairline. This helps in removing any blocks in circulation in your scalp. Rub lightly for a few minutes. That’s all it takes!
Precautions:

  1. Don't rub your thumbnails because it will accelerate the growth of beard, moustache or facial hairs and soon hairs will start peeping from the ears also.
  2. Avoid it during Pregnancy; rubbing nails can cause uterine contractions and can elevate blood pressure.
  3. Avoid in it in some surgical conditions such as acute appendicitis and angiography etc.
  4. Don't do it on problematic skin/nails or if there are infected sores or lesions on the hands, or on brittle/diseased nails.
  5. People with the history of hypertension should avoid vigorous rubbing of finger nails as it may elevate their blood pressure.
  6. Avoid long, excessive and vigorous rubbing as it may damage nails permanently.
  7. Before rubbing fingernails, you may apply small quantity of castor oil/almond oil/olive oil/petroleum jelly on nails, for beautiful and strong nails, the extra lubrication will decrease the excessive friction produced during rubbing procedure, this will make the nails stronger, lustrous and moisturized.
  8. Only rub the fingernails gently for 5-10 minutes, twice a day for better results.
